• a GOP pres with reasonable POV on abortion/gun control/gay rights (he’s very moderate on these, which i say is good. I for one totally enamored our last truly moderate President (Reagan).
• This “deficit” in morals-based beliefs in law allows for more reasonable Supreme Court appointments, and a true “CHECKS&BALANCES” system, difficult to have when you have an incredibly conservative moral president,who “agrees” with the GOP in congress, but then spends our money into the drainpipe of economic blunders….

Good times – It’ll be an honor to have my name on the ticket which loosed the former-first-lady of her hopeful coil, to one of the last staunch Bastions of American Leadership…

Well-connected public figures report that they have been told recently by Rudolph Giuliani that, as of now, he intends to run for the Republican presidential nomination in 2008.The former mayor of New York was on top of last month’s national Gallup poll measuring presidential preferences by registered Republicans, with 29 percent. Sen. John McCain’s 24 percent was second, with former House Speaker Newt Gingrich third at 8 percent. National polls all year have shown Giuliani running either first or second to McCain, with the rest of the presidential possibilities far behind.Republican insiders respond to these numbers by saying rank-and-file GOP voters will abandon Giuliani once they realize his position on abortion, gay rights and gun control. Party strategists calculate that if he actually runs, he must change on at least one of these issues.

NEW YORK (CNN) — A man went on a rampage in the New York City subway Thursday, terrorizing riders with two battery-powered saws and critically wounding a 64-year-old man, police said.

Police arrested the 30-year-old man.

“The suspect encountered a 64-year-old male who was entering the subway station and assaulted the man in the chest before fleeing the scene,” said Sgt. Kevin Hayes of the New York Police Department. “The victim was removed and taken to St. Luke’s Hospital in critical but stable condition.”

The Associated Press said the victim was Michael Steinberg.

Steinberg told reporters that the assailant never spoke.

“I think he was out of his

he told the AP.
